My Career Story
I began my career as a Records Manager for GE Capital Mortgage Services where I managed a team of 4 Inventory Control and 2 Warehouse Technicians. During my tenure I developed and implemented database and barcode tracking systems to manage 250,000+ active customer files and 1,000,000 archived warehouse files that were previously manually tracked. In 2000, the mortgage services division was sold to Shearson-Lehman and functions moved to California. I planned, managed, and completed the transition of 1.25 million customer files to San Bernardino.
I became a consultant for a year to assist a business associate by strategizing, coordinating, and developing a database application for a 500,000+ file conversion for a major New Jersey insurance company.
After the insurance project was completed, I was hired by American Business Financial Services as an Assistant Vice President to manage a team of 6 Document Control Technicians, and to digitize and automate the mortgage document process. During my tenure at ABFS I extracted and coordinated internal and vendor data for reconciliation and reporting requirements, implemented automation and imaging processes that eliminated a 40,000+ document backlog, and instituted digital imaging processing that reduced costs, streamlined document storage processes, and provided instant access.
As the mortgage-backed securities industry took a downturn, I joined PMI Technologies as Conversion Manager to manage a staff of 6 Conversion Technicians, and to assist with sales, software installs and support, plus other functions. In addition, I conducted data extraction, manipulation, processing, analysis, reporting and storage for clients, converted legacy system data and combined with current data format for external customers, and designed and implemented in-house document conversion databases and projects, along with internal data mining and reporting.
As the business struggled due to fierce competition, I searched for other opportunities for a Records / Document Imaging Manager, but they were scarce. It was at this time that I recognized my data skills and analysis opened many more opportunities. I landed a position as Business Intelligence Analyst with RS Integrated Supply (Storeroom Solutions, Inc. at that time). In the beginning I was tasked with standardizing and normalizing source system data that had no governance. I implemented static tables for common data elements, such as manufacturer names, noun/modifier classifications, unit of measure, and more. I also developed an MS Access/VBA based data collection tool for on-site data collection using standardized data, and automated processes to compile and send collected data to a centralized repository.
My position with RS had grown and evolved. I worked with an outside firm and was integral in the design, implementation, documentation, and managing of an Azure based data warehouse that utilized ETL jobs in SSIS to populate Fact / Dimension tables to incorporate multiple source systems into a common data platform for enterprise reporting and analytics. I continued to perform regular tasks, such as ad-hoc reporting using SQL, stock forecasting and min/max analysis using Excel, gatekeeping and data validation of source system data loads, and created Power BI applications for self-service reporting. Most recently I took on the responsibility of managing the RS Marketplace content. I increased the number of global items from 5+ million to 20+ million while managing 100+ vendor catalogs, driving 45% content growth and 74% global vendor quote growth the last six months through analytics‑driven process improvements. Mentored a team of six BI Analysts and developers, guiding technical analytics strategy, SQL development standards, automation initiatives, and data quality improvements
